Simply put, our brain is designed to focus on one thing at a time. When we bombard ourselves with information, the brain slows down and becomes inefficient. While switching from one task to another rapidly, we do it at an individual cognitive cost. Continuous switching between tasks encourages bad brain habits. Whenever we complete a task, we are fed with dopamine which is the reward hormone. Since our brain loves dopamine, we try and accomplish more in less time to keep the hormone flowing.
